7 workout myths everyone should know
1)Myth -best time to workout is the morning time.
Truth- If you're not a morning person then you cannot remain consistent with your morning workout. Best time for you to workout is when you feel more comfortable, you only know what's best for you.
2)Myth- It takes at least two weeks to get out of shape
Truth- You can actually take 4-5week break without having any serious loss. There are many other factors like age, sex, length of training, type of exercise you do, your muscle strength all these factors determine the time it takes you to get out of shape.
Truth- strength training actually means using resistance to workout. Resistance doesn't necessarily mean that it should come from weight. You can also use your own body weight for strength training.
3) Myth- strength training means using heavy weights and machines
Truth- strength training actually means using resistance to workout. Resistance doesn't necessarily mean that it should come from weight. You can also use your own body weight for strength training.
4) Myths- you only need to workout once or twice a week to stay in shape.
Truth- working out once or twice a week won't give you any benefit. You need minimum of 3 days planned workout per week. You should probably do something every day because more sitting will neutralize any activity you do.
5) Myth- best way to loose weight is to do lots of cardio.
Truth- Cardio will burn your calorie and make you calorie deficit but if want to loose weight, then you should do combination of cardio and strength training. Don't forget to take smart nutrition.
6) Myth- you should give your 100% effort doing every workout
Truth- you should never give your 100% effort doing every workout as going too high intensity too frequently will slow down your recovery time and lead to over training. You should only go extra 2-3 times per week.
7) Myth- You should stretch before workout
Truth- Its best to stretch after the workout as stretching helps to release tension in tight muscles. After good workout our muscles become stiff so to loosen them we should stretch. It is actually part of cool down.
